The exchange itself takes three moves:

The base transaction fee is 2% plus $0.05 per trade, with an additional 0-13% depending on the item and its trade hold. The Tradeit GG Dota 2 section works a little differently. You can exchange Dota 2 items for other items or for balance, but Steam’s terms of service do not allow selling Dota 2 items directly for cash, so that option is not offered. How to Get Started

You do not need to create a separate account or remember another password. The whole setup takes a few minutes:

1. Sign in. Click “Log in with Steam” and authorize through Steam’s official page. New users receive a $5 bonus on their first trade
2. Add your Steam Trade URL. Find it in your inventory privacy settings and paste it into your profile so our bots know where to send offers
3. Activate Steam Guard. The Mobile Authenticator must be active; otherwise, Steam holds outgoing items, and trades cannot complete instantly
4. Browse and choose your action. Open the Trade, Store, or Sell tab; use the filters; and build your exchange
5. Confirm the trade offer. Our bot sends the offer to your account. Verify the bot’s details, accept in the app, and approve with Steam Guard
6. Receive your items. Once confirmed, items land in your Steam inventory and are ready to equip in-game

A few tips make the first exchange smoother. Set your inventory to public before you start, because private inventories cannot be loaded. Review the wear level and float of the skins you receive before confirming, since every Tradeit listing displays these details up front. Remember that newly purchased Steam items may carry a temporary trade hold set by Valve, which limits when they can move again. Steam’s Trade Protection

Steam now marks recently traded CS2 items as “Trade Protected” for 7 days. During this window, the original sender can use the Recover option, which reverts all their CS2 trades from the past 7 days and locks their own account from trading for 30 days. Items with an active protection badge on Tradeit are labeled accordingly, so you always know an item’s status before you accept it.

Scam Warning Signs

No platform can promise that every user acts honestly, so the golden rule stands: confirm offers only from bots you initiated a trade with, and never share your Steam Guard codes with anyone.
